LOWER COSTS & TAX CUTS

Families are feeling the squeeze. A paycheck from a hard day's work doesn't go as far as it used to, and working people need a break.

Lower Property Taxes & Better Schools: Terri wants the state to get back to its constitutional mandate of funding public schools, so property tax increases stop filling the gap the state is failing to close. As a school board member for 12 years, a mom, and a lifelong, homegrown resident, this issue hits close to home for Terri — her district and many others have had multiple failed referendums, and when that happens, kids, who don't have a voice or a vote, are the ones who lose.

EITC: Expand the Earned Income Tax Credit, so all working families get a bigger credit — up to 34% of the federal credit regardless of how many kids they have, instead of as little as 4% today.
Veterans Property Tax Credit: Widen eligibility, so veterans with a 70% service-connected disability rating qualify, not just those at 100% — helping veterans and their families stay in their homes.

HEALTH CARE

As a nurse, Terri has personally fought with insurance companies to get patients the best treatment and to approve prior authorizations for needed medication. Everyone should have access to healthcare, and it shouldn't cost so much that people are forced into bankruptcy.

Preserving Local Pharmacies: With the recent closures of the Drug Store in Jefferson and Hometown Pharmacy in Lake Mills, Terri supports passage of the Cole's Act. This bill would stop big corporate interests from price gouging independent pharmacies and forcing them out of business, and it protects our kids from last-minute price changes on their medication. Tragically, this issue has already cost one young Wisconsinite's life. As a nurse, Terri wants everyone to get the medication they need, when they need it.
BadgerCare: Give every Wisconsinite the choice to buy into BadgerCare if they want it — or keep the commercial plan that's already working for them. No one loses options. Everyone gains one.
Insulin and Asthma Medication: Cap insulin at $35 for a one-month supply. Cap asthma medication at $25/month, and related supplies at $50/month.
Over-the-Counter Medicine: Remove the 5% state sales tax.

CHILD CARE

Increase Workforce: Cover training costs for child care workers to grow the supply of qualified providers in our area, and give home and day care providers continued grants to be able to invest in their workers and great learning opportunities for the children in their daycare centers.
Keep Providers Open: Provide funding to keep current child care centers and providers open — so parents have real options and aren't stuck on waitlists or paying sky-high rates.

SUPPORT FOR FARMERS

Farmers are the backbone of our economy and are woven into who we are — feeding communities across the country and the world.

Expand Internet Access for Rural Communities: With all the focus on Big Tech, one issue keeps getting overlooked — and it's the one voters in AD 38 tell Terri matters most. Thousands of homes in rural Wisconsin still lack access to reliable internet. In Jefferson and Dodge counties alone, an estimated 11,000–12,000 residents lack reliable access, largely due to the "last mile" infrastructure gap in rural areas. As your Assembly Member, Terri will work to expand financial incentives for providers to connect rural homes, and bring more providers to the table to build new lines of access where they're needed most.
Grow Markets: Expand access to local farmers' markets and direct-to-consumer sales, and double state funding for the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection's (DATCP) export promotion center, so farmers aren't dependent on any single foreign buyer.
Protect Farm Land: Strengthen the state's farmland preservation program and reinvest in the Purchase of Agricultural Conservation Easements (PACE) program, to keep Wisconsin land in Wisconsin hands for future generations.

DEFEND OUR COMMUNITY

It feels like our way of life slips away a little more every day — and the worst part is, we aren't even getting a say.

Cardinal-Hickory Creek / Line 765: A new high-voltage transmission line is planned to cut through local land, and outsiders are moving fast without showing why such a dramatic change is even necessary. Local officials from all over WI are objecting, and communities across Jefferson and Dodge Counties deserve to be heard before decisions like this get made, not after. Terri believes communities should have a real say before projects like this move forward, not be told once the decision's already been made.
Flock Cameras: Jefferson County Sheriff Maze was right to suspend Flock cameras after the unauthorized data breach. Terri stands with local law enforcement and emergency responders having the authority to act when technology crosses the line on safety and privacy. Some communities had these cameras installed without ever being asked. Terri wants oversight and transparency on how they're used, and to make sure local residents get a say before one goes up in their town.
Data Centers: Big Tech built the technology behind AI — now it's on them to figure out how to power it without pushing the costs onto the rest of us. New data centers use significant local resources, and local ratepayers can end up covering the cost of grid upgrades. Terri wants a pause, so the state can set clear rules that put residents first before more of these projects move forward.

SUPPORT WORKERS

Collective bargaining: Repeal Right to Work and restore collective bargaining rights, so workers have a real seat at the table on wages and working conditions.
Raise the minimum wage: Restore Wisconsin's prevailing wage law, so workers are paid a fair, local market wage instead of being undercut by out-of-state workers.
Trade schools: Invest in trade schools and apprenticeship programs, so Wisconsin workers have a clear path into good-paying skilled trade jobs.
